GDPR Notice
This notice gives additional context for users in the EU, EEA and UK regarding lawful bases, data rights and how to raise a privacy request when using Prayer Time.
1. Controller context
For the purposes of this notice, Prayer Time refers to the operator of the prayertime.live website and associated browser extension features. Some data is handled locally on your own device, while some requests are sent to third-party infrastructure required to provide functionality.
2. Lawful bases
- Legitimate interests: maintaining the service, understanding aggregate usage and improving functionality.
- Performance of a service requested by the user: remembering settings, rendering prayer times, bookmarks, recitations and downloads.
- Consent or browser choice: where storage or notifications depend on browser permissions or optional settings chosen by the user.
3. Your rights
- Access information about the personal data processing relevant to you.
- Request correction where applicable.
- Request deletion where the data is controlled by Prayer Time and not merely stored in your own browser.
- Object to or restrict certain processing where GDPR applies.
- Request portability where technically and legally applicable.
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
4. Data categories most relevant under GDPR
- Approximate or selected location used for prayer schedule and Qibla features.
- Preference data such as method, theme, reminder configuration and reciter choice.
- Aggregate usage signals such as visit or listen totals.
- Support or feedback content you voluntarily send.
5. International transfers
Because Prayer Time depends on external infrastructure and content providers, requests may involve services hosted outside your country. Where this happens, those providers are responsible for their own compliance obligations in relation to their infrastructure.
6. Exercising rights
To make a privacy request, use the Contact page and clearly state that your message is a GDPR request. Include enough detail for the Prayer Time team to understand the request and locate the relevant processing context.
