Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the Companions of the Elephant?

Surah Al-Fil (سُورَةُ الفِيلِ), “The Elephant”, is the 105th chapter of the Holy Qur'an. It is a Meccan surah with 5 ayahs, found in juz 30. Below is the full Arabic text with transliteration and the English translation by Abdullah Yusuf Ali. Sura El-Fil — arapski tekst, transliteracija i audio.
Al-Fil, "The Elephant", is a Meccan surah of five verses about Abraha, the ruler of Yemen, who marched on Mecca with an army and an elephant to destroy the Ka'bah. Allah ﷻ sent flocks of birds that pelted them with stones of baked clay and made them like eaten straw. This happened in the Year of the Elephant, the year in which the Prophet ﷺ was born.
At Al-Hudaybiyyah, when the Prophet's ﷺ camel knelt and refused to move towards Mecca, he said that it had been held back by the One who held back the elephant (Sahih al-Bukhari 2731). Reciting it, like all of the Qur'an, brings ten good deeds for every letter (at-Tirmidhi 2910).

Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the Companions of the Elephant?
أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِى تَضْلِيلٍۢ
Alam yaj'al kai dahum fee tad leel
Did He not make their treacherous plan go astray?
وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ
Wa arsala 'alaihim tairan abaabeel
And He sent against them Flights of Birds,
تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍۢ مِّن سِجِّيلٍۢ
Tar meehim bi hi jaaratim min sij jeel
Striking them with stones of baked clay.
فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍۢ مَّأْكُولٍۭ
Faja 'alahum ka'asfim m'akool
Then did He make them like an empty field of stalks and straw, (of which the corn) has been eaten up.
